2022-03-02-Community Message - Mask Wearing

Dear Bridgewater-Raritan School Community,

The purpose of this message is to keep the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District community up to date with the fluid state of our Covid-19 mitigation efforts.  Effective Monday, March 7th, masking throughout the Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will be optional, including on district transportation. Please note the following parameters we are implementing for the foreseeable future:

  • Masking remains the choice and responsibility of the individual.  Students will not be asked to put masks on within the current educational setting or on district transportation.
  • Students will not be grouped or singled out according to masking status.
  • Teachers, administrators, and staff members will not be responsible for the enforcement of parental masking requests.
  • Masking will only be required if an individual has Covid symptoms and needs to leave school or if an individual is returning on days 6-10 of isolation after testing positive for Covid.

Our decision to make masking optional is based on guidance from the New Jersey Department of Health (NJDOH), and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).  The Bridgewater-Raritan Regional School District will continue to follow mitigation efforts outlined in district policy in providing a safe and healthy learning environment for all students.

Thank you for your continued support during these challenging times.

Sincerely,

Robert Beers
Superintendent of Schools
