A fantastic first-time impression delivered by 5th Grade musicians at Band and Orchestra Concert

A resounding start to their concert series was presented by the band and orchestra students at the Eisenhower Intermediate School.

The students launched their performances for the school year when they sparkled during Eisenhower’s 5th Grade Band and Orchestra Concert on Tuesday, December 19.

On that morning to celebrate the holiday season, families gathered in Eisenhower's spacious gymnasium to enjoy a production that was guided by Lisa Gaudet, who is the 5th and 6th Grade Orchestra Director, and Chris Dickson, who is the 5th and 6th Grade Band Director.

Ms. Gaudet and Mr. Dickson were both  thrilled with the first-time showing before a crowd for their student musicians.

‘’The students were excited to play to an audience for the first time,’’ Ms. Gaudet said. ‘’The ensemble played well and with great confidence.’’

She is already focused on what lies ahead.

‘’We are looking forward to our spring concert on May 29, 2024.’’

Mr. Dickson cited the efforts of his students.

‘’The 5th Grade Band had a wonderful performance,’’ he said. ‘’ It was a great first concert and they are looking forward to their new spring material.’’

Along with the concert that is scheduled for May 29 at Eisenhower, the 5th and 6th Grade Band and Orchestra will perform at the district-wide Festival of the Arts on May 12 at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.
