Bridgewater-Raritan High School’s boys’ and girls’ cross-country teams each delivered a fine showing when the Skyland Conference Championship meet was run on Tuesday, October 14, at Phillipsburg High School.
In the Skyland Conference’s Delaware Division meet, the Bridgewater-Raritan boys placed second with 60 points, while the girls finished third with 55 points.
Phillipsburg won the boys’ division title with 27 points, and Hunterdon Central was the girls’ division champion with 42 points. Hillsborough High School placed second in the girls’ division race with 52 points.
Bridgewater-Raritan’s boy runners Zachary Urbanowicz, who ran a 17:33.1, Zane Hoffman, who ended with a time of 17:45.3, and Alex Kurasinski, who came in with a 17:55.4, placed sixth through eighth.
Also placing in the division meet for the Bridgewater-Raritan boys were Mateo Vasquez (18:38.6) at 19th, Sebastian Vasquez (18:40.8) at 20th and Paarth Sharma (19:26.9) at 24th.
Bridgewater-Raritan was paced in the girls’ division meet by Kaitlyn Chu, who placed third with a time of 19:28, Sofia Daniels, who placed fifth with a clocking of 21:01, and Lana Guelich, who finished eighth in 21:32.
Other finishers for the Bridgewater-Raritan girls were Sophia Rizarri, who placed 17th in 22:52, Leyah Chen, who ended 23rd in 25:04.1, and Anabela Mastropasqua, who finished in 24th in 25:04.8.
