Ike Broadway Night

A memorable night was celebrated on Broadway.

Broadway, in this case, was the Bridgewater-Raritan High School auditorium that served as the spotlight for the 2025 Broadway Night spectacle on the evenings of Wednesday, February 19, and Thursday, February 20.

The chorus students from Bridgewater-Raritan High School, Bridgewater-Raritan Middle School, Eisenhower Intermediate School, and Hillside Intermediate School assembled at the high school auditorium to present a breathtaking performance.

The theme for the two-night extravaganza was “Comedy and Tragedy.”

On opening night, the High School, Middle School, and Eisenhower choral students performed, followed by the closing evening when the Hillside students replaced the Eisenhower group to perform with the High School and Middle School singers

.A combination of solo acts, small groups, and large ensembles took center stage both nights.

The spearhead behind this production is Lisa Rotondi, the Director of Choirs at Bridgewater-Raritan High School.

She was gratified by the excellent assistance in presenting such a show and complimenting the student singers.

“Thank you to all of you who made Broadway Night 2025 a memorable celebration of musical comedy and tragedy! Students choose their own music for solo, small, and large ensemble performances, and I loved hearing which pieces spoke to our singers for this theme,” Ms. Rotondi said.

“Additionally we had creative work from senior Josh Zagare on lighting design (all of the gorgeous stage colors that added to the mood of the night), audio and technical support from Heather Diaforli-Day (High School Theater Arts Director) and Dan Schulze (Sound Technician) and our singers had the opportunity to work with two incredible professional pianists, Chris Fortin and Stefanie Watson,” Ms. Rotondi stated.

Ms. Rotondii closed with these memorable words.

“Concerts like these are the ones that our students will remember for years to come. I hope it will be one of their favorite memories of their time in high school! I know I will always hold my first Broadway Night with our students at Bridgewater-Raritan High School, which is very close to my heart.”
