Aden Wins the Spelling Bee at the Eisenhower Intermediate School.
Wins is the last name of this gifted 6th Grade student—— and win he did.
Aden won this prestigious Eisenhower Spelling Bee championship against his schoolmates on Tuesday, January 13.
The championship showdown featured six students who advanced to the semifinals—three from each grade level.
The 6th Grade semifinalists were Aden, Ankitha Jeyaram, and Karthic Velappan Saravanan.
The semifinalists in Grade 5 were Yashvardan Chaganaur, Ender Kozan, and Hriyaan Shetty.
After further competition, the list of candidates was narrowed to three: Aden, Yashvardan, and Ender.
And Aden emerged as the Eisenhower Intermediate School Spelling Bee champion for 2025-2026 when he correctly spelled the word "influence."
Another highly successful Spelling Bee contest was again spearheaded by Deb Ronning, who coordinated the event, and was joined by her fellow teachers Leigh Rousseau and Barbara Schaffer, who again served as judges.
Eisenhower’s dedicated Principal Dr. Laura Bassett was also in attendance to congratulate the champion.
According to Ms. Ronning, Aden will advance to regionals if he chooses to attend. She reported that the regionals are tentatively scheduled for March 8 in West Orange.
